This Cisco ASR 920 Metro IP Access license is the cumulative license that includes all Metro Access (Tier 1) Layer 2 features, plus full Layer 3 IP routing: RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IS-IS, BFD, PIM (SM/DM/SSM), SSM mapping, VRF-Lite with service awareness, and IEEE 1588-2008 Ordinary Slave Clock and Transparent Clock. For service providers requiring IP-aware metro aggregation without MPLS, this is the optimal license tier.

Also referenced as ASR920-S-I or ASR920-S-I=, this Cisco ASR 920 metro IP e-delivery license is a perpetual PAK-based license. All Tier 1 Metro Access features (HQoS, L2 switching, EVC, CFM/EFM, REP/MST, SyncE) are included. For MPLS and Pseudowire Emulation, upgrade to L-ASR920-S-A (Advanced Metro IP Access) via L-ASR920-S-I-A=. The e-delivery L- version replaces the end-of-sale paper PAK (ASR920-S-I=, EOS September 2017). For IOS XE 17.7.1+, Smart Licensing replaces PAK-based activation.
