The FLSASR1-IPSEC is the Cisco ASR 1000 Series IPsec VPN Feature License — the Right-to-Use (RTU) license that enables hardware-accelerated IPsec encryption on the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Router. This Cisco ASR 1000 IPsec license unlocks the full suite of cryptographic VPN capabilities: site-to-site IPsec, Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN), Easy VPN, Virtual Tunnel Interface (VTI), V3PN, and IOS Certificate Server. Supporting DES, 3DES, AES-128/192/256 encryption with RSA/Diffie-Hellman key exchange, this license is the foundation for any encrypted WAN deployment on the ASR 1000 platform.

Also referenced as FLASR1-IPSEC-RTU or L-FLSASR1-IPSEC, this Cisco ASR 1000 IPsec VPN e-delivery license is a perpetual, feature-based add-on license. Prerequisite: requires an Advanced IP Services (SLASR1-AIS) or Advanced Enterprise Services (SLASR1-AES) technology package. As an RTU license, activation is based on accepting the Cisco EULA — there is no PAK key enforcement, but compliance is expected under Cisco's honor-based licensing. The IPsec license itself enables the feature; actual encrypted throughput is determined by the platform and any throughput upgrade licenses (2.5G/5G/10G/20G for ASR 1001-X). This license is also included in the SL-ASR1-SEC security bundle alongside the firewall license (FLASR1-FW-RTU).

Compatible Platform

The FLSASR1-IPSEC IPsec license is compatible with all Cisco ASR 1000 Series chassis: ASR 1001, ASR 1001-X, ASR 1002, ASR 1002-X, ASR 1002-F, ASR 1004, ASR 1006, and ASR 1013. Requires SLASR1-AIS or SLASR1-AES technology package as prerequisite (IP Base does not support IPsec). The ASR 1001-X/1002-X require separate throughput upgrade licenses to scale encrypted throughput beyond the base 2.5 Gbps. This is an RTU license — accept the EULA to activate. Also available bundled in SL-ASR1-SEC (Security Solution License with firewall).
