This Cisco ASR 901 2x10GE port upgrade license activates TenGigabitEthernet 0/1 and 0/2, the two SFP+ interfaces that are disabled by default on all 6CZ chassis variants. For service providers needing 10GE uplinks for metro aggregation, this license unlocks dual 10GE wire-speed connectivity — essential for ring topologies, redundant uplinks, or link aggregation to the aggregation layer.

Also referenced as FLS-A901-2Z or FLS-A901-2Z=, this Cisco ASR 901 10GE SFP+ e-delivery license is a perpetual, feature-based license. The license feature name is "10gigUpgrade" and requires Cisco IOS Software Release 15.5(3)S or later. Unlike some ASR 901 features that use RTU (Right-to-Use) licensing, the 10GE port upgrade is an enforced license — the ports will not operate without a valid installed license key.
