This Cisco N77 Advanced Enterprise license enables Virtual Device Contexts (VDCs) — logically partitioning a single physical Nexus 7700 into multiple independent virtual switches, and Cisco TrustSec (CTS) — security group tagging for identity-based policy enforcement. The Nexus 7700 supports up to 16 VDCs with the ADV1K9 license + incremental VDC1K9 licenses on Supervisor 2E, making it one of the highest-density chassis virtualization platforms in the Nexus portfolio.

Also referenced as N77-ADV1K9 or N77-ADV1K9=, this Cisco Nexus 7700 Advanced Enterprise e-delivery license is a perpetual, chassis-based license. It is independent from N77-LAN1K9 (routing protocols) — neither includes the other's features. The N77 ADV1K9 provides the base VDC allocation; expansion to the full 16 VDCs requires additional N77-VDC1K9 licenses. For the Nexus 7000 equivalent, see N7K-ADV1K9.
